Greater Manchester Challenge

The Greater Manchester Challenge

The Greater Manchester Challenge is a three year programme (2008-2011) to improve educational outcomes for young people in Greater Manchester delivered in partnership between Government, schools, local authorities and all those working to raise education standards.

The Challenge will incorporate all aspects of the school system, including teachers, pupils, leaders and local as well as national strategic partnerships within the education system. It will cover and be delivered in partnership with the ten Greater Manchester local authorities of Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan.

Backed by £50million investment, along with significant Building Schools for the Future funding and new Academies Programmes, the Greater Manchester Challenge aims to deliver rapid and sustainable improvement in educational outcomes for young people in Greater Manchester.

Successful recruitment is essential and the Challenge is supporting a number of schools to recruit to key teaching and support staff roles for individual schools. We are also looking for Middle and Senior Leaders who are interested in working in a variety of roles across schools in the Challenge area. Please click on one or more of the above buttons to access details of individual roles.
