The Greater Manchester Challenge (GMC) is an ambitious three year programme designed to achieve significant improvements in education outcomes. It will provide children and young people with a Learner Entitlement based on the 3 As – Access, Aspiration and Achievement. The Greater Manchester Challenge will make an important contribution to the Government’s National Challenge and will focus on educational standards, side by side with local authority-led drives on integrated children’s services.
In addition to the vacancies elsewhere on this micro site schools in the challenge programme will, from time to time, have other short and medium term needs in senior and middle leadership roles. This may be targeted at specific school improvement tasks, cover for vacancies or as additional leadership capacity. In addition to our existing capacity it is likely that we will need :
- Subject specialists in English, Maths, Science or ICT at KS3 and KS4
- Proven and successful track record as Head of Faculty, SLT, Deputy or Headteacher
- Change management experience
You need to be:
- Passionate about children’s learning
- Enthusiastic about making a real difference to the lives of young people
- Keen to support and challenge teachers to improve their practice
